My son took his cell phone because I had to fly him to Georgia the next day & we were told he wouldn't get it back till the 8th. It's due to miscomunication like this that cost me $500.00 in a one way airfare just to have him catch up to the rest of the kids. The bus in Lantanan was not suposed to leave before 10:00. Atleast that's what I was told, that we had between 9 & 9:30 to get there. we arrived at 9:20 and the bus was gone could anyone confirm for me what time the bus actually left Lantana. It would help me alot to know that all of us that caravaned there to see him off were not loosing it. And that all of our clocks were not wrong.

the kids just called from the bus. this is for any parents whose cadets didn't/couldn't get through. Lantanna pick-up time is now 11 pm.

Are there any other parents who might want to drive up for the ceremonies but are reluctant because of the length of the drive? I am thinking about going, but I can't make that drive alone and wouldn't mind sharing the driving. I am picking up 2 cadets, and my SUV seats 7. I am in Palm Beach County, FL, (Boynton Beach) if anyone is interested.

The pictures posted are just repeats of pictures you already posted on Friday. Is it possible to get more close ups so that we can identify faces. The faces are unidentifyable. I think I see my son (Cadet L. Thompson) but not sure if he is in any of your pictures. This is his first time attending an encampment or being away from home. So we have no idea what is going on. Would be nice to have some text under the pictures so we know what's happening, & who's in them. The chaplin called me the first day with my son crying on the phone of back ache & that he misses home. Chaplin said he was a little home sick & just needed to hear my voice. Ever since that call we've been worried sick it would be nice to see a photto of him with a smile on his face or socializing or anything. Has anyone else gotten a call from the chaplin.

See you all soon. Coming to your graduation. I understand the ceremony begins at 9am. I have a few hours of driving about 4 so I would like to know if the graduation is 9-12 9-11, or if there will be a ceremony? I will be there to take photos.

The cadets are well taken care of. As they mature / age there will be less tears. The Chaplain stays busy and likely not call unless it is an emergency. Our teen has been to 3 and most do wello. sit back and take a deep breath - they'll do well and you'll see some positive changes next Thu. Letting go is not easy but this is a good start (PS: they eat well also! :) ).

Just wanted to say that once I figured out where everything was, it wasn't a problem to navigate the site. Thanks for the pics. I appreciate this site and the work you are doing on it, as when my oldest cadet went to the last summer encampment, I had no clue what was happening until he got home. Keep up the good work and stay warm!

Can you please publish as either Word or in .pdf format. The pictures are too small and can't be resized without pixellation, and I can't read any of the text.

Photos are under the "images" link on the navigation screen on the lefthand side.
Ditto video but nothing posted yet. Separately, I've posted a comment asking that the webmaster please cut and paste text on this page or post it as a .txt attachment rather than the .pub file that was for the initial Day 0 post because you need specific software -- like MS Publisher - to read .pub files and most home computers don't have that software. Hopefully, the PAOs will read this and help. |
