No videos, or pistures since Friday.
Dec 31 2006, 1:29 PM EST The pictures posted are just repeats of pictures you already posted on Friday. Is it possible to get more close ups so that we can identify faces. The faces are unidentifyable. I think I see my son (Cadet L. Thompson) but not sure if he is in any of your pictures. This is his first time attending an encampment or being away from home. So we have no idea what is going on. Would be nice to have some text under the pictures so we know what's happening, & who's in them. The chaplin called me the first day with my son crying on the phone of back ache & that he misses home. Chaplin said he was a little home sick & just needed to hear my voice. Ever since that call we've been worried sick it would be nice to see a photto of him with a smile on his face or socializing or anything. Has anyone else gotten a call from the chaplin. 0 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: call from chaplain
Dec 31 2006, 5:51 PM EST I also got a call from the chaplain the first night. My daughter was like your son. I can tell you she is now having a blast and would not want to leave for the world. If your son was not any better, you would get another call. I think this is a-lot harder on the parents then the kids, they are over it by now having fun and we are sitting at home stressing out about it. I don't know of any other camp that would go to this extent to keep parents informed. I do think we should be grateful for what information we do get. I think they are doing the best they can. Remember, no news is good news! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: call from chaplain
Jan 3 2007, 8:17 PM EST Thank you for your words of encouragement. They helped alot. I did get one more call on new years eve. He did confirm that he's enjoying it but really misses home especially during the holiday. We always stay up till midnight together & this year was the first with out him. I haven't gotten ant other calls since and it's almost time for him to come home. We are all alittle curious will we see a change in him? Could he manage to start cleaning his own room now? will he be more responsible and less distracted? Am i asking for too much now. lol. Thanks again. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Changes
Jan 3 2007, 9:10 PM EST You will probably see some growth in your cadet depending on their age. They still are kids. I have a 19 and a 17 yr old at this encampment...even they will have grown from this experience. Clean rooms and less distractions???...these are more about personality and age to me. One of my 3 sons will be a messy as long as he can get away with it...distractions we all have them...but what you really want is inner motivation. I believe that CAP over time through the process with create responsiblity in cadets and the desire to do better from within and it can depend on how you handle it as a parent. Just my opinions from raising 3 boys and being in CAP for last 5 yrs. Do you find this valuable? |
